How Much Do Marble Kitchen Countertops Cost in Lagos, Nigeria?

"How much is a marble kitchen top?" is one of the first questions people ask when planning a kitchen. The honest answer is that there is no single price. Two kitchens of the same size can cost very different amounts depending on the stone chosen and the work involved. This guide explains what affects the price, so you can plan your budget and compare quotations properly.
1. The stone you choose
Marble, granite and quartz are priced differently, and within each there is a wide range. Rare colours, bold veining and premium slabs cost more than common options. The slab you love is the biggest single factor in the final price.
2. The size of your kitchen
Countertops are priced by how much stone is needed. A straight run along one wall uses far less than an L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen with an island. Depth matters too: standard worktop depth uses less stone than an extra-deep island or breakfast bar.
Tip: measure the length of each run of cabinets and the size of any island before you ask for a quote. Better still, let us measure on site.
3. Cut-outs
Every opening is extra fabrication work:
- Sink cut-outs (undermount sinks need a polished cut-out)
- Hob cut-outs
- Tap holes and soap dispenser holes
The more cut-outs, the more work and the higher the cost.
4. Edges and finishing
A simple polished edge costs less than a decorative profile. Thicker-looking edges (where pieces are joined to look deeper) also add work.
5. Backsplashes and upstands
Many clients add a stone upstand (a short strip along the wall) or a full-height stone backsplash behind the cooker. These look beautiful and protect the wall, but they add to the total stone and labour.
6. Joints and slab layout
Long kitchens may need more than one slab. How pieces are joined, and whether veins need to be matched across a joint, affects both the look and the work involved.
7. Installation and site conditions
Moving heavy stone into an upstairs apartment, or a site that is still under construction, can affect installation. Cabinets must be fixed and level before fitting.
How to get an accurate quotation
- Send us photos of your kitchen and the cabinet layout.
- Share your measurements, or ask us to come and measure.
- Tell us the look you want: white and veined, dark, speckled, or plain.
- Mention any sink, hob and backsplash you are planning.
With that information we can prepare a clear quotation. Message us on WhatsApp to start.
Is a cheaper quote always better?
Not always. A lower price can mean a thinner or lower-grade stone, rough cut-outs or poor joints. Ask what is included: fabrication, cut-outs, edge polishing, installation and finishing. See what is included in our marble and granite installation service.
